DAVIT Dictionary of Record Types

This page is the public summary of PROPOSAL.md in the web-davit-in repository. Status: draft.

The staging site already publishes slim JSON Schema contracts:

• /schemas/mx/file-types.json
• /schemas/mx/id-types.json

Those files are a grammar. They are not yet a lexicon. File-type records — historic and current — still need an editorial desk: intake from unvalidated actors, cross-check, determination, dated publication.

The proposed administration site treats a published file-type the way a dictionary treats a headword. Admission is evidence-based. Revision is an edition, recorded in git. davit.in remains the reading room (publish-schemas.mjs unchanged). The desk owns contracts and registry rows, validates references (author → organisation, file-type → id-type), and stops hand-editing content/packages/*.schema.json once sync exists.

Phases: freeze the two live contracts (0), read-only viewers on davit_registry (1), lexicon CRUD with validate-before-publish (2), contract authoring and human-commit publish (3), later axes only after their contracts exist (4–5).

Roles follow this site: reader browses, editor drafts, admin publishes.
